We Love Pets!

PMAH is a family owned, state of the art full-service veterinary hospital focused on providing exceptional care to the animals in the communities of Acton, Concord, Maynard, Sudbury, Stow, and surrounding towns. Our practice is made up of highly talented veterinary professionals who are passionate about animals and will take care of each pet as if it were their own.  

 

The PMAH founders started this hospital with a goal to improve the status quo of quality care for animals as well as the full client experience that pet owners demand for their loving pet.

Meet the Team

Dr. Anne Field Best Veterinarian Vet

Dr. Anne Field, DVM

Veterinarian and Owner

Dr. Field earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University, and an undergraduate degree in Animal Science from the University of Maine. Prior to starting PMAH, Dr. Field was a veterinarian at the Animal Hospital of Lynnfield (Lynnfield, MA), and at Countryside Animal Hospital (Chelmsford, MA).

 

Dr. Field is proud to run a progressive animal hospital where clients can feel great about the quality of care their loving pets deserve.  She enjoys educating clients about their pets and is skilled in performing medical, dental, and surgical procedures to dogs and cats..

When not working, Dr. Field loves spending time with her family, she has two little girls (Zoe and Abbie) and a Bernese Mountain Dog (Ryder). She embraces an active lifestyle and tries to foster that same joy of outdoor adventures to her children. The family loves hiking, traveling, winter sports, and running.

Dr. Yuan Kang, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Kang grew up in Acton and always knew she wanted to work with animals and their families. She studied Molecular Biology at Yale University and received her veterinary degree from Cornell University. After practicing for several years in California, she is thrilled to be back in her hometown and part of the Powder Mill Animal Hospital team.

 

Dr. Kang’s professional interests include surgery, dentistry, shelter medicine and end-of-life care. She advocates for reducing fear and stress in the clinic whenever possible, especially when handling shy cats.

 

In her free time, Dr. Kang enjoys barre class, hiking, and any reason to get Kimball’s ice cream. She has two guinea pigs (Machu & Picchu) and a rescue Chihuahua (Dobby).

Dr. Alexis Margolis, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Margolis is originally from Long Island, NY and grew up wanting to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. She earned both her undergraduate degree in Animal Science and her veterinary degree from Cornell University. Before joining the team at Powder Mill Animal Hospital, Dr. Margolis practiced in southeastern MA. 

 

Helping animals and the people who love them is a passion that Dr. Margolis has always felt strongly about. She feels it is a privilege to care for those who cannot speak for themselves and loves the challenge that comes with diagnosing and treating our animal companions. Dr. Margolis is so excited to get to know you and your beloved pets while providing compassionate and low-stress veterinary care to the community!

 

At home, Dr. Margolis has a chinchilla named Mochi and a Corgi named Chadwick. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, barre/pilates, running, horseback riding, and exploring local breweries and farmers markets!

Dr. Amy Keiser, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Keiser earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from the University of Vermont. After graduation she took time off from the academic world to work as a veterinary technician, first in general practice and then at a physical rehabilitation facility that specializes in postoperative and geriatric care. She was then accepted to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she was able to complete her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.

 

Dr. Keiser is passionate about preventive medicine and has been in general practice since 2017. She is dedicated to educating clients about their pets' care so her clients can make the best possible decisions for their furry family members. Along with preventive care, she has special interests in spay/neuter, dental care, and feline medicine. 

 

When she is not in the clinic, she is spending time with her husband, two kids, two dogs (“coconut retrievers” from the island of St. Kitts: Ziggy and Rue),  and three cats (all rescues from Georgia: Pecan, Peaches, and Savannah). She loves to travel and spend time outdoors. Dr. Keiser especially enjoys yoga, horseback riding, running, water skiing, downhill skiing, and snowboarding.

Rebecca Maynard Vet CVT

Rebecca Maynard

Veterinary Technician Manager, CVT

Rebecca joined Powder Mill Animal Hospital in 2017.  She is a Certified Veterinary Technician, earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of New Hampshire and studied Veterinary Technology at the Essex Agricultural and Technical High School.

 

Rebecca is fear free certified and prioritizes making veterinary visits low stress. She enjoys all aspects of surgery, emergency medicine, and senior pet care. Rebecca loves meeting new pet owners and helping educate them on care and training. She is excited to bring her knowledge and dedication to pets and their families at Powder Mill Animal Hospital.

 

Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband and young son, taking spin classes, and horseback riding. She has a full house with two cats (Martini and Fluff) and two dogs (Tilia, a Pitbull Mix and Taco, a Border Collie Mix). 

Marissa Fitzpatrick

Hospital Operations Lead, CVT

Marissa earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of New Hampshire in Zoology, Animal Behavior, and Spanish. After graduation, Marissa completed internships working with marine mammals at Dolphins Plus in Key Largo as well as the New England Aquarium in Boston.

 

Prior to joining Powder Mill Animal Hospital, Marissa served as a Placement Trainer at Helping Hands: Monkey Helpers for the Disabled where she trained capuchin monkeys as service animals for people living with a variety of disabilities. Marissa’s strong academic background, diverse animal behavior experience and her passion for animal medicine combine to make her a great Veterinary Technician at PMAH.

 

Outside of work Marissa enjoys exploring Boston with her husband and friends and spending time with her cat, Andy.

Rachel Adams CVT Vet Tech

Rachel Adams

Technician Lead, CVT

Rachel has spent her whole life loving animals, all starting from watching The Lion King for the first time.

 

She graduated from Becker College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Veterinary Science. She is a Certified Veterinary Technician with over four years of emergency and general practice experience. 

 

Rachel also spent four months studying disease ecology in South Africa and working on a variety of domestic and wild animals. 

 

Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, friends and boyfriend. Rachel also has a dog Kruger, and three cats, Nala, Kovu, and Vitani. 

Katie Winchester

Office Lead, CVT

Katie earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a concentration in Animal Science from Becker College. She brings 5 years of veterinary technician experience to Powder Mill. She has specialized in emergency and critical care throughout her career and takes special interest in fear free handling techniques. She is low stress handling certified. 

 

She shares her home with her husband and two dogs, Jazzy and Odin, who can play for days on end. Outside of work she enjoys down time with family, the occasional beach trip, and candle making.

Jessica Legenza

Veterinary Technician

Jessica is a native of Westford, MA who has been surrounded by animals since a very young age.  Growing up, her parents instilled her with a love of animals; they had dogs, cats, ferrets, birds, and even a skunk!  Jess has a background in biotechnology and started working as a Veterinary Technician in 2007.  Jess has experience caring for dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

 

Outside of work, Jess is passing on her love of animals to her daughter as they have two cats, a dog, a Russian tortoise, and a ball python.

Rachel Olivera

Veterinary Technician

Rachel earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Andrews University in Animal Science and Chemistry. She has worked with animals her whole life. She brings 5 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician to Powder Mill. Rachel takes special interest in all aspects having to do with emergency medicine and surgery. 

 

Outside of work, Rachel enjoys spending time with her friends and family, snowboarding, and traveling. She lives with her husband, their dog Oscar and two cats Cookies and Melo.

Francesca Weeks

Veterinary Technician

Frankie was always around animals growing up, and studied Veterinary Technology at Essex Agricultural High School. She worked for 5 years as a technician in Oncology, Emergency, and the diagnostic laboratory at a specialty hospital while achieving her Bachelor's degree in Biology and Literary Studies from Merrimack College. Frankie joins the PMAH team while also working as a clinical trial associate coordinating ophthalmic medical device trials for human research. 

 

When not working, Frankie enjoys spending time at home in Andover with her and her boyfriend's dogs, Wyatt and Bentley. She is also a licensed horseback riding instructor, and can often be found at the barn enjoying time with her horse.

Mikkaela Scott

Veterinary Technician

Mikkaela's love for animals began with therapeutic horseback riding that then progressed into barn work across the state with cows, sheep, goats, and pigs. With a bachelor's degree in Captive Wildlife And Education with a minor in Zoology, she began her animal career working at an exotic sanctuary as a caregiver, specializing in large carnivores and livestock. Drawn back to New England weather, she then returned home to continue work in the zoo and then shelter field, before transitioning into veterinary medicine. 

When not working, Mikkaela enjoys spending time with her two cats ,Freya and Deli Sandwich, along with practicing her art with painting or digital design.

Stephanie Audette

Veterinary Technician

Steph is an avid animal lover and takes pride in her ability to empathize with animals. She is currently working towards her degree at UMass Lowell in Applied Biomedical Sciences, with the goal of gaining acceptance to a veterinary school her senior year.

 

Before joining the Powder Mill Animal Hospital she worked at several animal shelters, and spent the past 3 years working as a pre-op surgery technician at a spay and neuter clinic. Through working in low-cost medicine, she learned firsthand the difference one caring person can make in the life of an animal that is down on their luck. 

Outside of work, Steph spends her time with her husband, their chickens, and their three cats - Ginger, Spearmint, and Frank.

Lindsey Loiselle

Veterinary Technician

Lindsey has been in the veterinary field for over 20 years.  Her love of animals started as a young child and has only grown from there.  She earned her Associate Degree in Animal Care from Becker College and went on to complete her Bachelor's in Animal Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.  She has been working as a veterinary technician for 7 years. Before that, she managed a kennel and doggie daycare, worked in the education department of a zoo and her favorite position was as an animal presenter at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom.  Having been trained in customer service at Disney World instilled in her the importance of client relations and taking pride in what you do.

 

Lindsey has a special interest in dog behavior and all things puppies - she believes early experiences can shape the future of any dog!  Outside of work, Lindsey keeps busy with her 7 year old daughter, Paisley.  The two of them have fun playing games, doing crafts and going on nature hikes.

Veterinary Technician

Emily has over three years of experience in the veterinary field. Her journey began at a pet store in Florida, where she discovered her passion for working with animals of all shapes and sizes. After moving back to Massachusetts, she joined an emergency veterinary practice on Cape Cod. She quickly developed new skills and found her true calling in veterinary medicine. In 2022, Emily moved to Acton and began working overnight shifts at an emergency hospital in Waltham. There, she built strong relationships with her coworkers, which led to several pet-sitting opportunities. As word spread, her side business grew, with many colleagues booking her services. Emily deeply values getting to know each pet and their families, inspiring her to seek more opportunities for connection. This ultimately led her to Powder Mill Animal Hospital, where she is thrilled to watch her patients and their families grow.
